These best coffee shops in Bangkok, covers the best places for a good cup of coffee, from strong espressos to unique, extravagant lattes, we cover them all.
While living in Bangkok for the past four years, we made it our mission to try as many different coffee shops as possible. These are great places for us to escape to and work but also enjoy some time together, out of the heat. You will notice in this post that Calum prefers more traditional coffees whereas anything sweet wins me over. No matter which type of coffee drinker you are, let’s dive in to some of the best coffee shops in Bangkok.
Best Coffee Shops in Bangkok
Roots

Roots is a pioneer in Bangkok’s specialty coffee scene. With a focus on sourcing high-quality beans from local farmers, the coffee shop offers a variety of brewing methods, including cold brew and espresso, with seasonal signature drinks that showcase the creativity of their baristas.
Their Thonglor branch, located in The Commons, provides a cozy atmosphere with a rustic, quirky vibes. One of the things we love about living like a local in Bangkok, is how affordable cafes and restaurants are. Prices here are reasonable, with most drinks ranging between ฿100 and ฿200. My go to here is the Caramel Macchiato iced and this costs ฿150.
% Arabica
Location: IconSiam, CentralWorld
Menu Highlights: Spanish Latte, Matcha Latte, Kyoto Latte
Typical Prices: ฿150-฿250 per drink
Originating from Kyoto, % Arabica has quickly made a name for itself in Bangkok with its minimalist aesthetic and high-quality coffee. We have even seen this brand reach across the globe, opening stores in Canada too.
The Spanish Latte, a sweet and creamy concoction, is a popular choice but I love their Matcha Latte, very Thai but perfectly milky.
We often visit the branch in CentralWorld Shopping Mall, as this is one of our most visited malls but both branches are great. The IconSiam branch offers stunning views of the Chao Phraya River, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely coffee break; especially if you are staying in one of the hotels nearby.
Prices are slightly higher than other spots on this list, for example my usual iced white mocha is ฿200.
Casa Lapin
Location: Multiple across Bangkok
Menu Highlights: Flat White, Piccolo Latte, Breakfast Platters

Casa Lapin is one of Bangkok’s most well-known coffee shop chains, with several branches across the city. The Thonglor branch, in particular, is a popular spot for freelancers and creatives due to its laid-back vibe and spacious seating.

Casa Lapin’s coffee menu is extensive, with the Flat White and Piccolo Latte being great choices. They also serve breakfast platters, making it a great place for a morning meeting or a casual brunch. For a decadent dessert, try the Biscoff Croffle!
Prices range from ฿120 to ฿250 per drink, and my go to of Tropical Soul (coffee with a twist of passionfruit), is ฿150. Calum always orders the Thai Milk Tea here and claims it is one of the best in the city, this costs ฿140.

The Coffee Club
Locations: Multiple locations across Bangkok
Menu Highlights: Iced Americano, Mocha, All-Day Breakfast
Typical Prices: ฿100-฿250 per drink
The Coffee Club is an Australian chain that has become a popular spot in Bangkok for both coffee and food; we wrote a full Coffee Club review here.
With multiple locations across the city, it’s a convenient choice for a quick coffee or a sit-down meal. The calm ambience is a great place to enjoy a weekend brunch with friends but equally a nice place to bring a laptop along to and get some work done. Our local in Phra Khanong has a charging table, so you can sit along here and stay charging if needed.
There is an extensive food and drink menu here; you can expect your usual coffees and teas here, as well as fruit smoothies and decadent (Calum would stay excessive) milkshakes. These change every so often but one of my favorites was a Mocha with whipped cream, marshmallow and a chocolate bar sticking out of the top.
The Coffee Club also offers an all-day breakfast menu as well as affordable western dishes too. Personally, we tend to head here for brunch, and the Thai Egg Benedict is a must!

Menu Highlights: Flat White, Iced Latte, Brunch Dishes
Typical Prices: ฿150-฿300 per drink
Luka is a stylish cafe with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and a menu that caters to both coffee lovers and food enthusiasts.
The Flat White and Iced Latte are particularly popular, offering a smooth and creamy coffee experience that’s perfect for any time of day. I personally love their salted caramel latte but their white hot chocolate is perfect on a wet, stormy day. They also have a Strawberry ice latte which is tasty too!
Luka also offers a variety of brunch dishes, including avocado toast and hearty salads, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal. We like their twist on a simple grilled cheese; mozzarella and Comte cheese with black truffle and spinach.
The Sathorn location is especially popular for its chic decor and comfortable seating, making it a great place to relax or meet with friends. The prices are on the higher side, with drinks ranging from ฿150 to ฿300, but the quality and ambiance make it worth the splurge. Dishes cost between ฿200 – ฿450.

Typical Prices: ฿80 – ฿200
Set in a minimal cafe, Paga Microroastery offers high-end coffee with an experimental approach. The cafe is designed to mimimic a science lab, including white walls, ceilings and chairs.
Don’t expect a food menu or even an extensive drink menu here, but do visit to appreciate the strong coffee and flavors available. They take coffee brewing seriously here, so this is ideal for those wanting some of the best coffee in Bangkok.
This is a roastery too, so you can buy beans from here but also take a guided tour when visiting on the first Monday of the month.
Prices are reasonable, with piccolo costing ฿80 and a drip-coffee begins around ฿120.

No. But it is lots of fun and a great place for photos? Yes.
The prices are on the higher side, with most drinks costing between ฿120 and ฿300, but the unique and playful atmosphere makes it well worth the cost.
The cafe’s quirky decor and Instagram-worthy treats make it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
Roast
Location: multiple locations
Menu Highlights: The chocolate souffle and signature espresso latte
Typical Prices: ฿120 -฿240 per drink
Located in various spots around Bangkok, Roast is a great go to when exploring the city. Similar to Coffee Club, this isn’t just one of the best coffee shops in Bangkok but also offers an extensive menu to choose from.
I could let you know how their Thai twists are delightful and their brunch options feel healthy and fresh but also filling, but instead, I will jump straight to dessert: THE MAGICAL CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE. I would actually describe it as magical but that is also the name they have given it too. It was hot and spongy but fluffy and light and oh so tasty; a must!
For drinks you have your typical coffee options as well as shakes and smoothies but also some fretting drinks like lemon iced tea and their own roast iced tea.
Prices are reasonable too, especially considering most of these cafes are located in the popular malls in Bangkok. I also go for an iced Espresso latte (฿120), whilst Calum chooses between a flat white (฿100), iced caffe latte (฿120) or affogato (฿180).
WWA Portal
Location: Phrom Phong
Menu Highlights: Honey Process Dirty (Doi Chang Thailand)
Typical Prices: ฿120 – ฿550
With a futurist feel, this is another great option for those wanting to enjoy single-orgin filter coffee. They have a few options available with some offering notes of lychee and strawberry.
You won’t find food here but you can enjoy high quality coffee, perfect for those that take coffee seriously.
Prices are a little higher here because of the range of coffee types and methods available. We enjoyed their honey processed dirty (฿165), and Calum enjoyed their Tropic Coast Latte (฿135).
