Best seafood restaurants in Bangkok
1. Somboon Seafood
Somboon Seafood is an iconic name in Bangkok’s seafood dining scene and one of our first best seafood restaurants in Bangkok that we recommend.
Established in 1969, it’s best known for its Fried Curry Crab, which is flavourful and delicious.
With several branches across the city, Somboon guarantees freshness, quality, and flavors that are loved by locals and tourists alike. The restaurant offers a wide selection of seafood dishes, including steamed sea bass, stir-fried prawns, and grilled squid.
They are also listed on Food Panda, so if you want some tasty seafood delivered, this is a great option.
2. Laem Charoen Seafood
A popular choice for Thai families, Laem Charoen Seafood has been serving fresh and flavorful seafood since 1979.
Known for its use of traditional recipes and cooking methods, this restaurant serves dishes such as fried sea bass with fish sauce, grilled river prawns, and steamed crab with chili and lime. The seafood is fresh and high in quality, with comforting local flavors; we love the seabass.
There are several branches in Bangkok and we have visited the one located in CentralWorld and EmQuartier.
3. Taling Pling
Taling Pling is a beloved Thai restaurant with an impressive seafood menu. This spot offers a mix of classic Thai dishes and inventive seafood offerings, making it a great choice for those who love seafood and want to try some local dishes.
Calum loves spicy seafood salad and I love the stir-fried soft-shell crab. The grilled river prawns with tamarind sauce are fresh and tasty too. For Thai dishes, this is one of the best places to try Kai Hor Bai Tong (Chicken in Banana Leaves) and Massaman curry with roti.
Again, there are multiple branches around the city but we enjoy visiting the location near the Thong Lor BTS stop.
4. Copper Aquarium
For something a little unique and romantic, head to Copper Aquarium. Serving up plenty of seafood dishes and local food, you can enjoy a wonderful meal whilst watching fish swim past you. There is an a la carte menu or buffet, so you can enjoy a vast selection of food available.
This restaurant has a huge aquarium wall, featuring divers every so often too. This is an Instagram-worthy restaurant in the city and a fun option for couples and families.
5. Krua Je Ngor
Located in the Old Town, Krua Je Ngor is a renowned seafood restaurant in Bangkok, celebrated for its authentic Thai-Chinese seafood dishes and exceptional quality.
Founded by Je Ngor, the restaurant has built a reputation for serving fresh, flavorful seafood prepared using traditional family recipes.
Signature dishes include stir-fried crab with yellow curry and steamed fish with soy sauce; we loved the crispy fried oysters.
6. The Dock Seafood Bar
For a more upscale seafood dining experience, The Dock Seafood Bar in EmQuartier Mall in Thonglor is a great choice.
Specializing in imported seafood from around the world, it offers fresh oysters, lobsters, crabs, and various types of fish. Their oyster bar is a major draw, with a selection of different oyster varieties from France, Australia, and the USA.
The sleek, modern ambiance adds to the premium experience but do expect prices to be higher than other seafood restaurants in Bangkok.
7. Thara Thong
Set in a traditional Thai setting, Thara Thong is a top pick for many. The restaurant is a luxurious but traditional option, found in the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel.
It offers both elegant surroundings and a fantastic seafood menu! We loved their famous river prawns cooked in Thai green curry, deep-fried sea bass with herbs, and grilled squid. The staff are incredibly friendly and you can even enjoy traditional Thai dance performances.

Mookata-style dining is a popular choice for those who enjoy grilling their food and another one of the best seafood restaurants in Bangkok.

Located by the Chao Phraya River, Baan Klang Nam makes for a calm, romantic seafood restaurant in Bangkok; offering not only excellent seafood but also stunning views.

With multiple locations across the city, it’s a convenient choice for a quality seafood meal.
12. Somboon Pochana
Not to be confused with Somboon Seafood, Somboon Pochana is a more local, laid-back spot but still a great seafood restaurant in Bangkok!
The focus is on traditional Thai seafood, with standouts like tom yum goong, grilled river prawns, and steamed fish with lime and chili. It’s a no-frills place, but the food is flavorful and authentic, making it a favorite among those who want a taste of real Thai seafood.
13. Lek Seafood
Lek Seafood is a bustling, casual seafood joint located near Silom; a popular spot for tourists in the city. The restaurant has been serving up fresh and affordable seafood for decades, making it a favorite among both office workers and tourists.
Some of the best dishes include grilled prawns, stir-fried squid with black pepper, and spicy seafood salad. This isn’t a luxurious restaurant, so do expect plastic chairs and fans. However, the quality and affordability make it one of our favorite authentic seafood restaurants in Bangkok.
14. Savoey Seafood
Savoey Seafood has been a staple in Bangkok’s seafood dining scene since 1972. Known for its extensive menu of Thai-style seafood, Savoey offers everything from spicy tom yum goong to grilled river prawns and deep-fried fish.
