Choosing a hotel in the UNESCO world heritage site of historical Sukhothai can be a tough decision but we are excited to share Sheri’s guest post; The Legendha Sukhothai Resort review.
Legendha Sukhothai is conveniently located to the town, the historical park, it has great amenities, gorgeous surroundings and incredible service.
Sukhothai Hotel Review
I stayed for 2 nights in the 2-bedroom villa with friends. I regret not being able to stay longer. Rooms average around 2899B a night for the superior or deluxe room and 9106B for the 2-bedroom villa per night, all rooms include breakfast.
These are the Pros and Cons of my stay:
Legendha Sukhothai pros:
Location
Legendha Sukhothai is located about 1 km from the UNESCO world heritage site of Historical Sukhothai’s main entrance. There are many restaurants along the road leading to the site, along with the fresh food market. The back of the property sits adjacent to part of the historical park, which made for an amazing walk as we made our way through the gorgeous river on the property to the ancient Buddhist structures.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included with the price of the rooms at Legendha Sukhothai. The breakfast was a delicious buffet with some authentic Thai dishes along with more western choices like eggs, waffles, cereal, and yoghurt. There was also beautiful fresh fruit and vegetables. Coffee and tea were available along with several different types of juices. Perfect to fill up before a bike ride to the historical site.
Décor
Set off of the main road, Legendha Sukhothai is an oasis. The buildings are authentically Thai in design with white plaster and dark wood on the outside and vibrant colors, beautiful woods and elegant tiles in each room. The rooms, the restaurant and the lobby all differ in color inside, from vibrant purples to greens and teals and each is decorated uniquely to reflect the heritage of Thailand. The river flowing through the property adds to the serenity and is lined with blooming flowers, lush green bushes and bamboo water features. Exploring the grounds was like walking through a private garden.
Staff
With grace, we were welcomed to Legendha Sukhothai by the staff in the small lobby. They greeted us with a welcome drink, and personally showed us to our rooms. This level of service was maintained during our entire stay. They were polite, gracious, and eager to help us with transportation, directions, bikes and suggestions on places to eat and sightsee.
Hotel Facilities
Guests at Legendha Sukhothai want for nothing. We rented bikes during our stay, swam in the pool, enjoyed the outdoor dining room, took in the dance performance at dinner but unfortunately didn’t have the time to get a massage, take one of their cooking classes or other cultural classes they offer. There is wifi throughout the hotel, laundry service available and free parking. There are many quiet seating areas along the river and romantically lit paths for reading, relaxing or spending some quiet time with a partner.
Legendha Sukhothai Cons:
The only con we experienced during our stay was that it was difficult to get service at the pool area. Once we tracked someone down the service improved immensely and we were able to enjoy a beautiful lunch poolside with drinks afterwards.
The stay at Legendha Sukhothai was luxurious without five-star hotel prices. The atmosphere is romantic and tranquil without being too far from the town and the historic park. As I write this review, I dream of going back one day to spend more time relaxing, eating, walking and swimming.
You can book stays at the hotel either through their website or compare prices on Agoda and Booking.com
